Microbiology
I joined The Bean Lab as an undergraduate researcher in 2022, and am currently pursuing my B.S. in Medical Microbiology at Arizona State University. My research explores the quorum-regulated production of volatile organic compounds by the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the ways in which these volatile metabolites may alter P. aeruginosa phenotypes. This research is geared towards developing a better understanding of how P. aeruginosa bacterial populations interact within the cystic fibrosis lung environment.
